The Southern Research Virology program provides a comprehensive array of services in support of drug development ranging from discovery to preclinical trials. Our program is staffed with a recognized team of scientists, representing a spectrum of disciplines, who collaborate in the targeted research of viral diseases. We routinely perform drug screening for antiviral activity against multiple viruses, including drug efficacy, toxicity, and mechanism of action assays. Low- and high-throughput screening of compounds are available in cell-based or biochemical (targeted) assays. In addition, we can assist clients in the design, development, and implementation of in vivo animal models in support of in-house ADME/PK and toxicology studies. Southern Research also provides custom services, including GLP- and non-GLP studies, to both government and commercial clients. We work closely with our clients in adapting current assays or designing and developing new assays for automated screening systems to meet their specific research needs.
