David A. Rutledge

Chief Financial Officer

David A. Rutledge was named Chief Financial Officer in 2005, having previously served as the controller at Southern Research. He has extensive knowledge of the government contracting process and experience in both not-for-profit and for-profit accounting practices. In addition to Financial Management, Rutledge directs Information Technology and the Office of Intellectual Property. He first joined Southern Research Institute in 1986 as a contracts specialist. For 10 years, Rutledge held a number of financial management and contract administration positions with Southern Research Technologies, Inc. and SRT Electro-Optics, Inc., for-profit spin-off subsidiaries of Southern Research Institute.

Rutledge has more than 20 years experience in public and private accounting sectors. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1983. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Alabama and holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Business Administration at The University of Alabama.
